Re: 21st Century Soapbox  10/16/2008 - 6:08pm
My name is Glen R. Graham, http://www.glenrgraham.com a Tulsa Criminal Defense Lawyer, with over 20 years experience. I have two professional Tulsa Criminal Lawyer Blogs which provide practical information for anyone who may have family or friends charged with a DWI, DUI, drug charges, and other charges. I have two: http://www.tulsacriminaldefense.blogspot.com and http://www.oklahomacriminaldefense.blogspot.com
I generally update my blogs about every two weeks to about one month. My blogs try to be non-political, practical advice and information related to criminal law practice. I don't blog about feelings, personal political preferences, sex, religion, or other emotion packed stuff. Just straight practical information and trial tactics and philosophy of defense. Some bloggers want to vent or express emotions or use it as some kind of personal discovery experience. Saying things like "I feel cloudy" or "I feel sunny" or "I hate broccoli" or "I like such and such politician" or "I hate such and such politician" or "my ideas more important than your ideas because of such and such reason." Tulsa seems to almost be a one newspaper town but since the blogosphere has become more active, the media competitive possibilities are expanding and people who used to think their ideas were more important than anyone else because of their media contacts are experiencing competition.

Re: New to the Neighborhood  8/ 7/2008 - 8:13pm
One of the newest coffee houses. New comfortable couches and chairs are wonderful! Great food, good music, good coffee. Watch-out starbucks, you've got competition! Wi-fi available. The sandwiches are gourmet and the coffee is some of the best in town. The relaxed music is a sharp contrast to the hustle and bustle of some restaurants. I got the impression that I could just hang-out all day, no-hurry. Relax. Stay a while. Located across the street from Ziegler Art and in the previous mexican restaurant on the corner of Lewis and Admiral.

   Sincerely,

Re: Never Again  11/30/2007 - 4:14pm
I enjoyed your article tremendously. Outstanding job! Keep up the good work. Have you thought about publishing your article on the web? Professor Jonathan Simon, Associate Dean for Jurisprudence and Social Policy, Boalt Hall, School of Law, UC Berkeley. Author of "Governing through Crime: How the War on Crime Transformed American Democracy and Created a Culture of Fear (OUP 2007)" has written extensively regarding this subject matter in his book and blog: http://www.governingthroughcrime.blogspot.com/
Interesting to note is the use of the police by white vigilantes to "deputize" the white vigilantes to legitimize the reign of terror visited on the blacks.
The council of oak hanging tree, first known court proceedings in Tulsa, where executions and retributive justice and mob rule reigned is also interesting and long forgotten or not mentioned.

The trail of tears, sort of like a "moving holocaust" and anniliation of the native Americans by the dominant Southern Whites in the Presidency despite a ruling against removal by the U.S. Supreme Court is also not a focus of attention. Hundreds of native Americans, women and children included, died on the trail of tears a horrible death. Prejudice and bias still exists today and the failure to acknowledge and recognize it's existence prevents seeking real solutions.
   Yours in the Law,
