I agree with much of this ... but a few differences.
Never nationalize... thats pure socialism.
'The people' in our case are not really in control of government...its called Congress..
ALso, we need to remove Barney Franks & related as he is specifically one of 3 who blocked reform efforts that would have kept this crisis from happening to start with.
Plus bush warning that fanny/freddie had problems in 2001 being ignored by congress.
I do agree about iraq, but not afgan.
Afgan was our japan...while iRaq was our germany.
We had total valid reason to go to Afgan despite the lack of getting binlaudin...
ANd while I like saddam being gone, it doesnt justify the lives lost since removal.
Lets note also that loans to people who had no business getting loans which was mandated by law was part of the problem too.
Btw, nationalizing anything will just give congress more options to tax more or use $$ for additional programs.

About puppy mills i AGREE.
i AM A BREEDER BUT i BREED FOR QUALITY NOT $$ OR VOLUME.
aND i ONLY CONSIDER PURE BREEDS.
iN MY OWN CASE, i MIGHT have 1-5 new pups per year, yet my pups are sold for $400+ nearly double the usual rate for poms.
ANyway mine are also housetrained and housebroken and peopletrained before being sold.
Plus I turn down nearly half of the potential buyers and will tend to turn down anybody who even seems wrong or whos family isnt 100% behind getting a pup.
In the past I have personallly been more responsible than most in rescue when I had better facilitiies..
I no longer do it because it was too draining and too much trouble.
Yet there are those who would dare call me a puppy mill.

Though I am not christian (but my wife is)... I am very tolerate and very open to other people wanting to pray or otherwise worship their way.
But once it crosses into telling me how to pray or what to pray... thats different.
Only god or whatever my faith is can tell me that.
Not even my wife has the right (moral or legal) to tell me what I must think or how I must think.
That is between me & god alone.
Government officials should never be leading any such prayer as that is not the intent that Jefferson himself said was meant by the 1st amendent (read elsewhere on This website about that).
In public arena type prayers I am often vocally not going to 'adhear' to public prayers because though not christian I agree with Jesus that public prayers are wrong (its in there, read it).

I dont even care if it sounds like bigotry.
We are currently now in a situation like the world was with Nazism..
If the world had fought earlier the evils of nazism many lives would haved been saved.
As it is, with islamic extreemism... nuclear is the only option left because words wont work at al.
In my own case, I own a few businesses and will not do business with anybody that I can deem:
1. Illegal immigrant.
2. Muslim.
Problem is that it will be often difficult or impossible... fortunately at least one of my business's requires enough documentation that I will be able to avoid selling or dealilng with those two evils.

As a rule, those of us who are non-muslim will nearly always ignore the comments of those who promote terrorism while pretending to be peaceful.
In my own case- I will hold all muslims guilty of terrorism, unless they are publically vocaly against it (and in private too).
Unfortunately for Muslims their religion does in fact promote murder because for them its (if u are not of our faith u should die).. is in fact part of their religion.
Whether its in the quoran or in the imams words it matters not...because the faithful will think it is required to kill to be faithful.
Sounds to me like we will be in nuclear war in the future... as the only thing left is to eliminate them before they eliminate all non-believers.
