"Tulsa's angelic investor" - this sounds as though we're counting on Kanbar to save us. Fact is, we should be counting on ourselves to do just that. Of course, looking at some of the previous comments, the topic deviates toward that of crime (which certainly figures into the business/investment equation). Might add my own comments on that topic: Tulsa police are long overdue for an attitude change. I echo the experience that cino24 and tulsaguy, having several crime issues where TPD showed indifference (at best) to clues and witnesses to wrongdoing. But we'll save that for another time and another story. I'm curious to see what Kanbar plans to do in this down economy and how it will affect Tulsa.

Combine one part Internet, one part second-hand information and you end up with a misunderstanding that goes "viral". The folks at Coffee House on Cherry Street are good people and pretty open-minded so it sounds like one mad mom missed the point: poop and food do NOT belong in the same room. The CHOCS' baker was brilliant and very clever! Cleavage cookies, anyone?

Swan Lake is a beautiful park and enjoyed by not just Tulsans but visitors from all over the country. Too bad the City of Tulsa has been lax in funding upkeep and fountain replacement. Kudos to those in the historic Swan Lake neighborhood who have been donating money for these projects. Hopefully, someone with deeper pockets can make a significant contribution and get the fountain up and running. Its been busted since the winter of 2001.

Good report and it sounds as if "Girls Inc." offers so hope and promise, even if it after the proverbial horse has been let out of the barn. Not sure what the answer is to prevent unwed teen pregnancies, but I would certainly advocate a "parent" license procedure before procreating. The person who suffers the most is the child.

Moving out of the state is pretty drastic. I'm not sure if that is the solution to a lot of the issues facing the Sooner state. As I approach my 25th year of living in Oklahoma it appears more and more that our legislature only wants white, English-speaking, healthy hetrosexual Christian conservatives to live here. It doesn't help that we have a high unwed teen pregnancy rate, poor health and education statistics and a growing desire to carry handguns anywhere.
