Here it is a year-plus later and the controversy still looms! As a Canadian, I have watched Post-9/11 America try to come to terms with itself. I have laughed, cried and yelled "Bravo" at the stupidity and courage of America and it's people. After reading this and other related articles, listened to George Noory, Rush Limbaugh and others, I have come to the conclusion the American Government is not to be trusted. America, as a concept, was a billion watt light bulb that showed the world the inequities of nations extolling their virtues in worker and people's rights, only to be shown for the brutal, murderous dictatorships they really were. The light bulb brought down The Soviet Union and the Berlin Wall. America, as a nation, was the big man on the schoolyard where the little ones (including Canada) had little to fear because the bullies knew they would be facing the big man next. America, as a people ARE the warmest, kindest, friendliest people in the world. You were ALWAYS there when people in other nations were hungry or devastated. Even when they cursed and shot at you, you always came back for them. As a Canadian, I AM VERY PROUD to have you as a friend to Canada! With the passing of The Patriot Act, and, arguably, the suspension of your Constitution, I have watched the Billion Watt Bulb dim - literally under the noses of your Congressmen and Senators. This says perhaps they are too busy KEEPING their jobs to DO their jobs. Could this be true of your State Legislators as well? As a people, your greatness also comes from the healthy "F-Word you" you have absolutely no trouble telling your legislators when you get sick and tired of being sick and tired. Are you sick and tired enough yet? Here in Canada, we have also heard of the North American Union, and we are fighting it on this end too. Unfortunately, most Canadians have difficulty believing such an idea exists, and that is becoming less as more evidence is presented. I guess this makes me and my fellow Canadians conspiracy nuts and part of the fringe. The article was a beauty. Unlike Fox News it was truly fair and balanced, and I hope to read more as I go along.
