A really great book for potential adoptive parents is "Twenty Things Adopted Kids Wish Their Parents Knew" by Sherrie Eldridge...as well as "The Primal Wound" by Nancy Verrier (psychologist & adoptive mother).

Adopted adults in OK are denied the civil right of obtaining their original birth certificate, which would provide them and their children vital genealogical, and medical histories. Six U.S. states have passed laws which restore this right to adult adoptees. The American Adoption Congress helped me navigate the red-tape of obtaining this important information and works to educate the public about life-long adoption issues.
