Re: Home for the Holidays  12/18/2010 - 9:24am
Absolutely great story about a fantastic guy, Phil Marshall. The TreeHouse was full to capacity last night with some loyal fans of Marshall and Skib (Andy Skib of Two Have Heroes) and some new ones.
The Tree House is going to be a great new Venue option in Tulsa and the first gig there proved to be a great one. Lots of space; good bar and looks like it is going to be going bang busters!
Thanks for the great article and showing that everyone can always come home!!

Re: Flat on his Artistic Face  1/ 4/2009 - 5:18pm
Great comments. Skibsterb. I brought many of these points to the writer independent of putting these on the board to give him the chance to make any appropriate changes; which he isn't going to do.. Even if he stands by what he wrote, his comments shouldn't be at the expense of David Cook. The issue is with the Music industry and if the author wants to review David Cook's album on the merits, then he should have done that.
But all said and done, we know that David Cook and his new awesome band (who I have now seen on more occassions that I am willing to admit in this public forum) will have success beyond what anyone in this town can fathom. and in the spirit of what the Skibsterb said, Rock ON David Cook because there will be a time this writer and any of the other naysayers will be on the David Cook bandwagon.

Unfortunatly Urban Tulsa has taken on the mantra of we don't write it unless it is critical or negative to anything that is trying to make Tulsa good. Shoot, I have been to at least 7 David Cook performances in the last year and each time, when I say I am from Tulsa, the outside world thinks we are a mecca of musical talent. But I don't know how we will ever really achieve that title when we have uninformed (don't worry, I'll post all the inaccuracies in the article shortly)writers dissing what we have cultivated here. But I have learned that this is the mantra of many Tulsa naysayers, who hate the establishment, people who make money for a living and just want to do something good as part of their life. I am not gonna jump down Josh's butt (I'll say that word instead of what some other people choose to write on this site) because the kid is entitled to his opinion, but I think he should have the hootspa to actually write a column and direct his frustration where it should be and not to David Cook. When I heard that this column was coming out, I said to a friend, well, Mr. Kline hope you are ready for the big league because you are gonna open a can of worms that I hope you can handle.
   Peas out,
