HUGE CORRECTION: The cd release is $5.00 and the can of food gets you $2.00 off of the price of a cd, NOT the price of admission!

Re: Hit the Road  5/25/2009 - 1:09pm
I don't think that the review of Barking Water is a fair assessment of the film, or particularly good journalism. I did not walk away from the review feeling that it "supports" local film. It is "nitpicking" and even calls itself that. If you feel that something is "nitpicking," but you still mention that thing and try to justify/downplay the mentioning of it...you still sound as if you are "nitpicking." It's a journalistic trick. You could have expressed the intensity of the relationship of characters... or the possible relation, that an audience member might have, to a victim of cancer and the emotional sides of that. Everyone wants to break a dying family member from a hospital and help them reach a life destination. That is the focus of this film. Not the number of times that a viewer sees a bridge. You've missed the point. Just sit back and admit that. You have dismissed this film as a "roadtrip" movie...which I see a belittling. You focused on this personal dislike instead of doing what you claim...supporting local talent. You could have discussed Harjo at length, personally addressed the musicians who provided such a great score, or better credited the actors for giving such stirring performances. This review was the sound of your own voice for the sake of hearing it. Pointless.
