icewdla, Have you lived in another country and experienced the difference in health care systems? Most people your age are healthy enough not to worry about the cost of healthcare. If we continue with this system, you may regret your attitude. I dislike this American belief in the "I got mine, you're on your own" attitude. "Individualism" has gone too far. People have lived in groups for the advantages it brings with it: Safety in numbers, a common defense, affordability of anything designed for the public good (such as roads, parks, energy and water and sewer services, education, lending libraries, the mail, assistance from neighbors or community when bad times hit, police and fire assistance - I could go on.) Social Security would survive with a few adjustments - you pay into it yourself unless you're planning not to work for a living. The problem with people in this country is that they refuse to actually change systems they don't like. They pronounce the effort useless and cop out.
