I've been going to Jamils for over 20 years. The food has always been good, but the service has varied somewhat from time to time.I've never not been offered the salad, and 'the bread' this reviewer says he never got was a pita bread basket. Sounds like this waitress was new, and needed better training. Some of the staff are simply outstanding, timing everything perfectly. I never eat the potato, take it and the half a steak I can't eat and fix them up for breakfast the next morning...yum!

I found this article to be quite naive regarding library services. For starters, the Google Book project is not, even in my lifetime, going to have the contents of every book. To portray it as such is misleading as best. Secondly, the library world as a whole serves a varied commnity of people, many, many of whom will never own a computer, Ipod, or other such device. The library should explore and continue to offer digital services; indeed now you can look up information on online databases (much too expensive for the common person); read an ebook; download an audio book, etc. TCCL will no doubt continue to do so, while they also attend to the needs of the person who prefers a book. I would invite Mr. Guthrie to shadow a library at a busy public library someday, and see if his theory still stands.

Throw_Randi_Out, I'm a current employee, and I would say don't believe everything you read in the papers. For starters, morale was not low everywhere, it seems to be mostly concentrated in a few. Although I was not always a fan of Linda's style, the morale situation was completely overblown. Laurie, on the other hand, has the complete confidence of the staff. As for the rest...let it go. We have. We just want to move on. Laurie had nothing to do with the pay issues, that was all the commission. If you want to throw accusations, throw it to them. The staff in general is ready to move forward.
