Re: Views on Vision2  10/10/2012 - 11:50am
Folks i have lived in Tulsa most of my adult life . lived in California Texas Florida for about 10 yrs growing up. I was always so proud to say i was from Tulsa Oklahoma and every one knew our city was great and clean. The oil bust happened and every thing kinda stopped in Oklahoma. We need to keep going vision 2025 was great proceed with vision 2 who cares if there were closed door meetings there are always closed door meetings when you are dealing with goverments. We need to develop that stinky dreid up river i have said it once and will say it again go to San antonio heck go to OKC and look at there river development yeah there were hickups a long the way but look at the citys now. Every thing that they have now or starting to develop is because those stinky ole streams that ran through there towns. Develop the River in 10 to 15 years the taxes collected from this will pay for more development. Tulsa can be a place for our kids to say im staying right here!
    Sorry to ramble.

Re: En-Vision This  8/28/2012 - 3:09pm
I will not vote YES on extending this TAX unless there are low water dams built on the river. The citizens of Tulsa did not vote NO on river development . They voted NO on building an island in the middle of the river! There was talk of river development in the original vision tax. They have done the enviromental studies now develop the river! Makes since for us to do . Go to OKC and stay the night in brick town and watch what happens Visitors are paying taxes to fund other projects in the OKC area. Go to Kemah Texas on the boardwalk Same Scenerio. river walk in San antonio, Cleveland etc etc . Come on people have a Vision Develop the river and watch the Tax money and jobs pour in . The towns that have water frontage ( Creeks, Lakes, Oceans, dirty ole swamps) have taken advantage of it in the last 20 years and now are reaping the rewards. Just a thought.

Re: Respecting the River  10/14/2010 - 1:24pm
i think Developing the river is a great ideal. We need to have Casinos,Resturants,Shopping,Bells,Water Taxis,Oil and Gas Museum,Native American Stomp Grounds etc etc. But why in the world are we doing another study? We have all ready done a Phase 1,2 and 3 paid for by the vision 2025 tax money. The vision 2025 web site states these studies were completed phase 1 and 2 in late 2005 and phase 3 were completed in 2009? Lease the land to devolpers CHEAP and let them go for it. Tulsa at this pace we will never see it happen.
