I can understand and appreciate your opinion and views on the actions or lack there of about Mr. Henderson. But one cannot truly understand what the citizens of North Tulsa experience on a daily basis without living in North Tulsa. It amazes me that you have never experienced the type of violence or behavior in any other quadrant of the city that you have when responding to calls In North Tulsa. I saw a man get shot at my apartment complex in South Tulsa; where I use to live. It happened no more then 50 yards away from my apartment unit with my expecting wife inside. It was then I decided that violence is everywhere in Tulsa. I moved back to North Tulsa with my new born and wife shortly afterwards because I felt safer and I have lots of family in North Tulsa. It angers me and other North Tulsa residents on how the media portrays this side of town. Jusf watch the news. When a crime happens out here out north the suspects faces are posted on TV immediately. The same thing is true when reporting crime on the west and east side of the city. But let the same type of violence occur in Midtown or South Tulsa and the differences in media coverage is like black and white; no pun intended. My whole point is that I get tired of the negative image that is portrayed of North Tulsa. Yes we have gangs, drugs, thugs, abandoned broke down houses, murder and everything else under the sun. If people and the media are so worried about crime and drugs they should report on the new homes that have been built by habitat for humanity, or the thriving tennis league at Lacy Park. The Greenwood Culture Center has an amazing youth program; my daughter attends the ballet classes. Real leadership only emerges with sacrifice. What has the city of Tulsa sacrificed to help lead North Tulsa out of the dark cloud it's under? Don't worry I'll wait.
