Re: In a Blue Funk  7/ 4/2011 - 5:02pm
What-ever happened to the Knotty Pine Bar-B-Q or the Chickory and Chives Restaurant on Charles Page Blvd? Residents there are looking for more choices for restaurants.

The Daylight Donuts shop on West Edison across the street from the Central Highschool is a good north - west side business but many people are unaware of it's existence or location and they are serving regular full menue breakfasts and lunches and the owner is a real nice guy who has not gotten enough good credit and thanks for running a business in the area.

Re: In a Blue Funk  7/ 4/2011 - 4:56pm
The Blue Jacklope as a concept or theory in action sort of old fashioned grocery store, coffee shop, meeting place, was a great idea. But, there appears to be limited parking, and it appeared to limit access to customers. People who live in the neighborhood can easily walk over to the store and there is limited curbside parking, but not an adequate parking lot. Many corner grocery stores in the past likewise have surrendered to the realities of the modern market-place. Convenience stores which sell gas, beer, and cigarettes, and are in and out places have replaced the neigborhood stores.
