Christianity has always acted as if the Constitution is not legally binding on their beliefs. The government can't be seen to endorse one religion over another or none. The government is to stay neutral.

What many Christians don't understand is the United States was founded upon the Constitution and the Ten Commandments is not the foundation of law. Only 2 of the commandments pass constitutional muster and those 2 are universal laws tht preceded Christianity by many years.
