I agree with most of the response to the first question. The history between the U.S. and Mexico is vastly different than the one between Northern/Western Europe and Southern/and now Eastern Europe. I suppose the closest analogy would be that between the U.K. and Northern Ireland. There you have or had a sizable Protestant minority receiving all the benefits of it's Imperial sponsor, while the Catholics got dick. However, there is one significant difference between the nations of Europe and those of North America, and that is, the history of settlerism. Although the Europeans have fought each other countless times, they've always been Europeans and nothing else. In North America, the history of genocide and land thievery colors every social relationship. Thank you for the time!
