Yea. I agree with what you wrote, one of the other reasons that hip-hop fell off is because quite a bit of these new rappers don't know the history of hip hop music like alot of the older rappers from the 80's and 90's. I think when your aqainted with the history of somthing bettesition to take what u learned in the past to a better level. A lot of these new cats can't elaborate on anything beyond Pac and Big. Who were talented artist, and yea they talked about money clothes, gangster stuff etc. But hip hop heads didn't knock it because they were one of the originals to bring that element to rap,and plus ther were more styles of rap to choose from. And artist put more time into there work and the quality of the music was better now u hear artist making songs in 5 min 20 mixtapes in a year but the quality a lot of times isn't there. Back in the day yor favorite mc mite drop a album once a year or every year and a half but when it dropped u had good music to listen to. Bottom line is the love of the music and the culture just isn't there and it shows in the music, I grew up liking junior mafia and biggie and other rappers who talked about diamonds and guns but it was a realness to it. Thats why alot of hip-hop heads didn't knock it. It was around 99-2000 rap was changing for the worst and not for the better.
