wowsa, 7/ 3/2008 - 12:34pm "Unfortunately, so much of the activity has been pushed to the area around 3 and Lewis. There have been recent murders and violence in this area. There are drunken people sitting right out in the open with their brown paper bags. Maybe this area can receive some of that police help before it becomes known as the newest slum area for illegal activity. Even with a recent grant to clean up the area, Putting money into "Whittier Square, building the new Kendall-Whittier Magnet School, the new library, etc. seems a waste if we are going to let the area be taken over by the elements of crime you see right out in the open."
