Cory, 8/ 8/2011 - 6:18am "By placing this monument to Christianity on the lawn of the State Capitol, this is endorsing Christianity. This is saying that the state holds this religion over all others. Unless they place monuments to other religions, making it a secular display, then this violates the constitution. This has nothing to do with "growing a thicker skin", but everything to do with freedom not only of religion, but from religion, or the oppression from it. Do not sit there and try to pretend that this is anything more than making a proclamation that this is a Christian State. And as far as the picking up the bill comment, do you not realize that while the monument is being paid for by private funds, the maintenance and foundation are being paid for out of taxes?
Personally, I want a bronze statue of the Flying Spaghetti Monster on the Capitol Lawn."
