William, 3/16/2012 - 7:57am "QT did something similar with the Brookside Plan. The people and businesses in Brookside worked long and hard to create their plan negotiating and compromising with each other to come up with a fair and balanced development path and vision for the future. They expressly wanted to preserve any strutures (especially any historic art deco ones) or areas that were already pedestrian friendly and as new developments were created, have them be more pedestrian friendly as well. If a structure is torn down and rebuilt for instance, their wish is to have the new one be built up to the sidewalk and thus continue to grow and enhance the attractive pedestrian friendly nature of the area. Then QT basically said "screw you all". They tore out old buildings and increased the non-pedestrian space in Brookside in order to expand their gas station there. What they did in Brookside was terrible."
