Don Quixokie, 1/28/2013 - 11:44am "Just what does 2nd amendment defense against tyranny look like?
Yeah yeah yeah. Concord Bridge.
What about Shay's and the Whiskey Rebellion?
On the other side of the equation, what about the Trail of Tears...that death march that formed the Genesis of this state as Indian Territory?
I know how you love to rattle on about the moral hazard of welfare and food stamps.
What about the moral hazard of being able to kill lots of people very quickly?
Maybe, just maybe, average citizens can't be trusted with that.
Armed citizens shoot people over parking spaces.
When was the last time someone killed nearly two dozen children with a welfare check?
Shot a congresswoman and killed 9 bystanders with food stamps?
Made blood run like water in a movie theater with Medicaid and Section 8?
Maybe if we recognize that citizens can't be trusted with military hardware, there would be much less of a moral hazard and far less of a public health hazard.
No. It's really not. At least it's not if you have an ounce of pragmatism, concern for your fellow citizens and aren't a whore for gun manufacturers and their mouthpiece, the NRA."
