William, 9/12/2007 - 7:20pm "We are very fortunate they didnt tear this building down. It is now a Tulsa treasure. The high altar is a treasure as well. Many of its kin were destroyed when such architecture and style went "out of fashion". I Believe it is one of the largest and most beautiful examples, of the age old technique used to make it, that remains in the US. I would love to thow out the idea of converting the parking lot in front of the Cathedral into a Cathedral Square or Plaza. With a central fountain and shops, cafes etc. around it. Most cities, especially european and older cities, have a central place like that, the heart of the city, and we are fortunate to have the opportunity to build such a place in our downtown. What a wonderful treat it would be to sit at an outdoor cafe at night looking out over a lit up fountan and seeing that beautiful Cathedral."
