urban tulsa reader, 7/12/2008 - 11:09am "My spouse is a math teacher at TAC on the long-term side (the worst half). She liked Dr. Alexander, but what this article says about him is true. He generally took the side of the students and often ignored referals. Kid's would be back in my spouse's class the day after they had made threatening remarks. He also allowed the classes to be too large and did not provide proper resources (desks, assistants). Some students were sitting on the floor. But, as Dr. Z admits, he appointed the guy. And when the teachers complained to Dr. Z about the state of things--instead of taking steps to fix the problem--he threatened to take away their certificates. He did nothing, not a single thing, to improve the problem. So I think Andrea Eger's [Tulsa World] reporting is not biased, she simply is focused on the person who had the most to do with this colossal failure."
