"I love how Mr. Hamilton used collectivism to totally marginalize those who have a conservative view of the constitution. First, brand them: "Tenthers". Nice. Sounds like Truthers and that gives it that wacko-conspiracy nut flavor. Then let's tie it to actual conspiracy theories and how about we add in the old racist south card, too. I'm suprised I didn't see a reference to the infamous Jim Crowe in this piece of tripe. These "tenthers" use the same interpretation of the 10th Amendment that's taught in a basic American Federal Government class in University. I should know, I just took the class last year. I don't see that it's really anything extreme other than the fact that people are actually asking their legislators to uphold it in the wake of some of the largest proposed social programs since the New Deal era. It may be a knee-jerk reaction to such massive programs, but I don't see it as a rightwint-nutjob-racist-conspiracytheory-wacko agenda. To blanket every person who is and has been reacting in this fashion as such is both narrow-minded and juvenile. I support the Constitution and the 10th Amendment (and every other Amendment) as many, many Oklahomans and Americans do and I will agree that the fiscal issues facing Oklahoma are dire and need to be addressed. However, issues of constitutionality and the Rule of Law do not need be forsaken to do so. The Supreme Court is not the final check and balance against the unconstitutionality of federal and/or state law. We the people are. You and I. We can disagree about a great many things, but you won't mummify me in your precious preconceptions, Mr. Hamilton. You don't know anything about me, what I think, what I believe, or how I feel. Your presumptuous nature is equally as uncomical as a 10th Amendment Resolution."
