dashley00, 2/ 4/2011 - 12:59pm "I have to admit, re-reading this article now 2-4-2011 makes Hamilton's writing even more prophetic.
Progressive public school districts like Bristow with strong school boards and Superintendents like Jeanene Barnett, Ph.D. recently cited as one of the 14 schools in Oklahoma getting the more 'bang for the buck' Hamilton writes about. Literally.
Washington-based Center for American Progress, concluded its findings ( Edweek report by Christian Sameuls, 1-19-2011) to measure educational prductivity of every district nationwide.
This sweeping study measuring 'bang for the buck' showing which districts get more for their investment in their students and included more than 9,000 school districts.
Creek County's Bristow Public School district was one of only 14 districts in the state who received top marks in all three rating catergories. The study included k-12 districts having 250 or more.
Thank you Arnold Hamilton, this article should be required reading for each Oklahoma educator, staff person, and person with a child in public schools.
