Sarah Hanks, 7/29/2011 - 2:40pm "I am the instructor of "Jersey Shore-GRC: Depictions of Gender, Race and Class on the Shore" and I think it's safe to assume that the author of this article is stuck in the current-traditional mode of pedagogy which continues to fail to engage our students. Courses on pop culture help to capture and engage students on socio-cultural issues on their own ground. If they are going to watch shows such as South Park and Jersey Shore isn't it better to have them think about them critically and actively rather than passively?"
