"TODAY AT 2:30 P.M. CITY HALL 10TH FLOOR TMUA Tulsa Metropolitan Utility Authority final meeting with the Tulsa mayor and his appointed TMUA board members.
Mr.Bob Bowcock, water specialist and investigator associate of Erin Brochovich will presnt, inform and educate the TMUA on the extremely controversial and dangerous chloramine conversion which has been planned and now is facing implementation by the City of Tulsa and the TMUA board.
On Dec 12, 2011 KRMG did a story where a San Francisco "study" was the basis for TMUA Vice-Chairman, Rick Hudson and his decision to covert to chloramine. The study he refers to is no study at all on the safe and effective research on chloramine.
Rather,it was a 17 person phone interview conducted by laymen phone operators with no specific questions related directly to chloramine.Over 100 people wanted to participate but were not asked, and of those 100 people those with rashes were never seen by a doctor concerning this study.
That is a simple fact
accepted by USEPA, CDC and AWWA. They have the information
the big question everyone is struggling with is
now that they have the information what will they do with it? Drinking water regulations evolve
the regulation of DBPs has been an ongoing process since 1979. If Tulsa
armed with this new information chooses to add ammonia knowingly to their drinking water they do it with knowledge we didnt have last year, three, five ten or twenty years ago
they do it with the full and complete factual knowledge that they will be harming people and causing property damage. If they can do that and sleep at night
God Bless them.
Today is extremely important in voicing your opposition to the use of ammonia in our drinking, bathing and everyday use water supply.
Remember,12% of the population will be affected right off the top, and Tulsa TMUA members know this.
WILL YOU OR SOMEONE YOU LOVE HAVE HEALTH AFFECTS?
WILL YOUR HOME PLUMBING BE COMPROMISED?
ARE YOU WILLING TO LEAVE A TOXIC FOOTPRINT FOR THE FUTURE OF TULSA, AND IT'S CHILDREN?
The EPA is looking hard at it's own descision to raise standards and by the types of TOXIC chemicals it deems "safe" and effective.
How can you call something safe, when NO studies, data or time has been put into a full scale report to evaluate the real side effects of chloramine?
Tulsa has to comply with EPA regulations, but a board of 5 has decided that chloramine is the way to do the job. There are safer alternatives and a better way to disinfect and that is the truth!
