"Hey concerned taxpayer, the only reason Dec 25 is a Holiday is because "we" celebrate the birth of our savior; Jesus the Christ and honor him. It really doesn't matter what the actual day of Christ's birth is, we just don't know what the actual date was. What does matter is, we as a nation "choose" to honor him on that day. It is an official national holiday. We have over 200 years of American history honoring that tradition and hundreds and hundreds of years of other countries doing the same. You do not have to participate if you choose not to. In any case; we wish you a very Merry Christmas.
For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given;
and the government shall be upon[a] his shoulder,
and his name shall be called[b]
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
7
Of the increase of his government and of peace
there will be no end,
on the throne of David and over his kingdom,
to establish it and to uphold it
with justice and with righteousness
from this time forth and forevermore.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this."
