Long, Hard Road
Rugby crew seeks its first national title
One of the most successful sports organizations in Tulsa doesn't charge admission. As a matter of fact, they even provide free burgers and beverages to the weekend spectators that attend games at the team's home on the bank of the Arkansas River.

Bridging a Gap
East meets West in midtown
Tulsa isn't exactly the epicenter of Eastern culture in the West. A few ethnic groceries here, a karate studio or two -- or five -- sprinkled there over the city.

Men's Style
Lots of options from head to toe
When I first encountered Taylor Scheer, owner of the men's clothing store The Style Lab, out on the sidewalk in front of his store -- 1338 E. 15th St.-- I thought, "What on earth is he wearing?" Knowing he'd just come from the golf course, it was somewhat surprising to encounter him in an Ikat print muscle shirt, faded blue chino shorts, a Saint Louis Cardinals ball cap and crocodile loafers.

You've seen them, and you've seen a couple of different versions of them. There's the electronic cigarette that looks like an actual cigarette, complete with a battery-powered orange glow coming from the end of it.

Designers strut their stuff
All design involves the art of compromise. At 4,500 square feet, the 1930s Colonial Revival Tandy home is smaller than the usual 5,000-square-foot minimum for a Tulsa Designer Showcase home.

Hone your nesting instincts
The nest: a place of refuge and comfort, a shelter from external elements. Pretty much everyone knows that a bird nest is where the eggs are, where they hatch, and where the hatchlings live until they can get out and make it on their own.

In Focus
A relatively successful revamp couples style with a modest budget
Ford debuted the Focus in the U.S. in 1999 as a 2000 model. It was popular and well received when it first came on the market, but over time the competition improved and Focus lost its appeal.

"Steamies" vs. Diesels
A day out with one of kid TV's most popular pals
As soon as kids can navigate Netflix, they are choosing the popular train show Thomas & Friends, complete with catchy British tunes, famous narrators, and train drama from the Diesels versus "Steamies." Historic train memorabilia may seem lackluster to your typical preschooler or toddler but anytime it involves the #1 Tank Engine, Thomas, they are sure to be on board.
