If a picture is worth a thousand words, the accompanying photograph of the Rev. Victor Orta boarding a private Beechcraft King Air owned by PrePaid Legal Services speaks volumes to state Rep. Randy Terrill's suspicions about the legal arsenal arrayed against his new immigration reform law, HB 1804.

Dan Howard, of Dan Howard Aircraft Sales, took the picture at the Tulsa Jones-Riverside Airport.

Howard told UTW that the logbook reads that the flight was to Ada, where PrePaid Legal Services' headquarters is located.

Orta is the state coordinator for the National Coalition of Latin Evangelical Clergy and Christian Leaders, a.k.a. CONLAMIC, the organization chiefly responsible for a pending federal lawsuit seeking to repeal the new law.

So, when the Republican from Moore caught wind of Orta's collaboration with PrePaid Legal, he connected some dots that, in his view, create a clear picture of broader conspiracy against the new law.

The beleaguered lawmaker said he's heard rumors of a potential legal attack from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, so he said it's no coincidence now that a member of their board of directors, Harlan Stonecipher, who also happens to be the founder and CEO of PrePaid Legal Services, is meeting with one of the principal opponents of the new law.

"Why else would they be shuttling plaintiffs in a lawsuit against my bill?" Terrill said.

Acknowledging that it sounds somewhat like a wacky conspiracy theory, the lawmaker said, "It's not a 'theory' if there really is a conspiracy."

Terrill said, as a publicly-traded company, "PrePaid Legal's customers and shareholders would be very interested to know that they're backing this lawsuit against 1804."

Except, according to John Long, PrePaid Legal's vice-president of corporate development, they're not.

"We're not taking a side either way on HB 1804," he told UTW.

He acknowledged that the company had met with Orta, and discussed HB 1804, but not for the purpose of joining in the lawsuit.

At least, not that lawsuit.

"As a company that markets legal service plans, people are going to need legal representation related to this," said Long.

"We recognize that it's a controversial bill, and its ramifications are pretty significant," he added.

Long anticipated that landlords, business owners and legal immigrants who utilize his company's services will need legal advice on how not to run afoul of HB 1804, and representation in the event that they do.

Along with Orta, he said his company has also met with several Chamber of Commerce representatives and other representatives of the business community about the new law's ramifications.

Terrill and Howard, though, are skeptical that their agenda ends there.

"That cost them three or four grand to fly that plane to get Orta out there," said Howard.

"Why couldn't they have just talked to him on the phone?" he added.

I am Choctaw (American Indian, not Native American) and do not share the opinion of Native American. I am so proud to live in Oklahoma and have legislators like Randy Terrill and Randy Brogdon representing the interests of Oklahomans. I am proud to call Dan Howard a buddy. Good to see Tony Doltz here too.

Now if we can elect Tom Tancredo as the next President all of the United States of America will soon have what Oklahoma has.

Native American fails to understand that laws have been in place and not been enforced at the federal level for more than 20 years. Now they will be at the State level

Rep. Terrill and Dan Howard are to be commended for the work and dedication to this immigration problem. There is no easy way to address the infiltration of law breakers for other than to arrest/deport them back to their country of origin. Their is no politically correct way of addressing the security of this country. It is what it is! It's certainly not rocket science. It's an invasion and it must end.

My hat is off to those who stand up, get off the fence and take a stand against criminals infiltrating our way of life.

Dan and Randy are true patriots IMO!

Rep. Randy Terrill is an American hero to legal immigrants like me. I am a foreign-born Hispanic legal immigrant married to a foreign-born legal immigrant. We have nothing to fear from law enforcement. Read my article here: http://www.americanchronicle.com/articles/viewArticle.asp?articleID=41016
and my personal website here www.dolz.com
Among many other wrongs, illegal immigration is discriminatory to millions of law abiding non-Hispanic would be immigrants.

Why is it that supporters of illegal aliens always attempt to confuse the issue. Cut and dried, this is not the Mayflower, these are not legal immigrants arriving at Ellis Island 100 years ago, this is not a country of immigrants as the majority of the legal population is now American born, illegal aliens are not entitled to any free services, jobs or special considerations siphoned from the taxpayers of this country, illegals are not doing the jobs that Americans won't do, the immigration system is not "broken", there is no fairness in jumping line in front of those applying to come into this country legally, and finally, enforcing the laws of this country is not racism. Those are the falsehoods promulgated by all who stand to gain socially, politically and financially by the rape of the American citizen. The truths are these. Like every other country, the United States of America has laws that determine who will be allowed to enter our country. Not only is breaching our sovereign borders against this law, aiding and abetting (to include providing employment, housing, education, welfare, and ANY incentive) is a felony. Those who stand to gain are easily recognizable. Follow the money, and the vote. There is nothing profound about what I say...only glaringly truthful. Let's not confuse the issues with the socialist's agenda. And let us also innoculate are population against the invader's most deadly weapon...political correctness.

Your ancestors tried and failed to destroy our ancestors; Get a life. As for your statement as to making it easier to become legal. There is a lawful process in place to do just that. However, with regard to Mexicans, they are spawn of an ignorant criminal and selfish culture without imagination nor natural technical acumen. How long now has Mexico had the benefit of observing the greatest democracy ever? Still Mexico has failed to grasp a fundamental business plan which would build a self sustaining society. The Mexican people remain as they were when ruled by by the Spanish; in darkness, slaves to idolatry, and the Catholic Church. Mexicans are among the most devious and racist people on the planet.

If Mr. Randy Terrill really wanted to help, he would make it as easy to be a US citizen as coming over on the Mayflower. Reverse the situation and tell us what would the US be like if when Mr. Terrill's ancestors arrived on the Mayflower My ancestors put them back on a boat and deported them??
